Porsche Cajun To Be Built in China or North America?

Porsche’s new vehicle, the Porsche Cajun, has many people itching to get behind the wheel of the new speed demon.  The Cajun is labeled as a luxury crossover and looks to be based on Audi Q5’s Quattro platform.   That means that the Porsche FAW-Audi factory in Changchun which is in Northeast China would be the obvious choice to manufacture the vehicle since they are already producing the Audi Q5.

Porsche’s CEO Matthais Muller told the German economics magazine Forbes that Porsche hasn’t made the decision yet as to if it will happen in China or if they will opt for North America.  The decision will be made later this year. However, the Q5 isn’t made anywhere in the United States or Canada, so to move production here would be an odd choice.  If North America does get chosen, it would mean more jobs for Americans and that would be a very good thing, as well as a positive political move for Porsche. Only time will tell.
